Thousands of runners and walkers will take part in the Chesapeake Bay Bridge run this Sunday, the only time of the year the bridge opens to pedestrian traffic.
The event spans from Anne Arundel County to Queen Anne’s County, offering participants a unique view of the bay.
Last year, bad weather forced Corrigan Sports to cancel the event, which has led to increased demand for this year’s race.
Drivers should be aware of temporary closures on the bridge’s eastbound span due to the event.
The eastbound span will be closed to traffic from midnight Sunday until 2 p.m., with two-way traffic redirected to the westbound side.
